Lee McAllister, author of Hiking the Catskills and Hiking Long Island will be discussing the many hiking opportunities available on Long Island. The lecture encompasses the geology, history (natural and human), flora, fauna and topographical features that make Long Island such an interesting place to hike in any season. All hiking opportunities in Nassua and Suffolk counties are encompassed in this discussion. Other topics discussed include winter hiking, photographing natural landscapes and ways to get children and young people outdoors and closer to nature.
