Nothing beats the flavor of herbs plucked fresh from a garden and used in your cooking! Join educator Mike Goudket for a one-hour walk through the Raynham Hall Museum herb garden and get a historic perspective on herb cultivation on Long Island. This guided tour will look at the use of herbs in historic and simple contemporary cooking, seed starting, and how to grow herbs successfully in challenging suburban environments. Goudket contributed to the design of the Raynham Hall herb garden based on his work at Old Bethpage Village Restoration and has maintained a home herb garden for over 25 years. Limited to 8 participants. Wear gardening clothes and bring gloves, and a pencil and paper to take notes. All materials will be supplied for seed starting.
