Board Members

The Board is comprised of 4 Executive Officers, 1 Executive Director and 14 Directors.

Cruise Night

Plan and execute Tuesdays Cruise Night events. Entertainment, music, kids area coordination. Runs approximately 15 weeks from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

Event Planning

Plan and execute all special events, installation event and fundraisers. Secure locations for all events, coordinate dates and times with hosts, plan refreshments, order and arrange for delivery and set up at meetings and arrange for cleanup of same.

Executive Committee

Comprised of the President, the Vice President, the Treasurer, the Secretary, and the immediate Past President. During the time in between the meetings of the Board, the Executive Committee shall have charge of the routine business of the Chamber.

Holiday Committee

Plan and execute the holiday market, street stroll, and tree lighting. Coordinate dates and times with vendors and participants. Set up at meetings and arrange for cleanup of same.

Legislative Committee

Identifies legislative issues that affect local small businesses, advocates actively before government on behalf of small businesses, educates membership about the impact of the legislation on small businesses. Reviews and recommends revisions to the chamber by-laws when necessary.

Marketing & Social Media

Enhance the image of the Chamber by creating appropriate and effective marketing messages using social media, press releases, and printed mailings. Manage the Chamber’s Facebook page, Instagram, and website.

Membership Committee

Focuses on increasing and enhancing Chamber membership, and other initiatives aimed at recruitment and retention of members.

Networking & Business After Hours Committee

Arranges monthly networking events and Business After Hour events. This includes finding the venue, arranging for light fare and beverages, procuring a speaker if appropriate, and sending out email blasts announcing the networking event.

Nominating Committee

Coordinates nominations and elections of directors. Solicits and accepts recommendations for board membership and then presents a slate of nominees to the Board for approval.

Oyster Bay Day Committee

Plan, coordinate, and execute Oyster Bay Day. This involves communicating with the town for approval to shut down some streets, signing up vendors, setting up vendor locations on the street, arranging for extra security patrols, putting out press releases advertising the event.

Restaurant Committee

Develop, market, and promote strategies for the restaurants in Oyster Bay-East Norwich to attract customers.

Ribbon Cutting Committee

Coordinate ribbon cutting events, advises the hosts of their role, arranges for photos, contacts local legislators to attend, issues a press release or email blast announcing the ribbon cutting.

Scholarship & Student Business Partnership

Work in conjunction with local schools on programs such as career day and arrange for chamber employment programs and internships. Work with the school’s guidance office to nominate students eligible for scholarships.

Women in Business

Arrange informal meetings with women-owned businesses in the hamlet.
