Development Internship - Oyster Bay Main Street Association

Duties and Responsibilities
The Development Intern will work directly with the Executive Director to gain hands-on experience in donor management, fundraising campaigns, grant writing and research. The Development Intern will assist with database management, coordinating and executing a major fundraising campaign and/or event, expanding the reach of the organization, and other administrative tasks as required.

Interns are encouraged to develop and contribute strategies to improve current processes within the organization and the non-profit industry at large. Interns are also encouraged to coordinate with other staff, board members, and volunteers – especially those in programming, promotion and marketing. This internship is an opportunity for aspiring development and fundraising professionals, as well as, those interested in non-profit management to gain experience in a dynamic, hands-on organization focused on community revitalization

Requirements and Qualifications
All candidates must be well-organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated. Strong communication, writing and research skills encouraged. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.

Schedule Duration
The schedule is flexible but candidates must be able to commit to at least ten hours per week.

Compensation
$1,800, based on a 12-week duration with a commitment of 10 hours per week. Degree credit can be arranged.
