Program Development Internship - Oyster Bay Main Street Association

Duties and Responsibilities
The Program Development Intern will work directly with the Executive Director, Program, Director, and committee chairs to gain hands-on experience in identifying goals, defining strategies, developing initiatives and programs, and evaluating programs. The Program Development Intern will assist with all aspects of programming – from planning, to executing and evaluating.

Interns are encouraged to identify opportunities for new programming, develop and contribute new programming and/or strategies to improve efficacy within existing programs. Interns are also encouraged to attend all committee meetings, familiarize themselves with the organization’s 5 Year Plan, and coordinate with staff, board members, and volunteers as required. This internship is an opportunity for aspiring non-profit professionals, especially those interested in program development and project management, to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic, fast-paced organization focused on community revitalization.

Requirements and Qualifications
All candidates must be well-organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated, possess strong communication skills and be able to multi-task.

Schedule Duration
The schedule is flexible but candidates must be able to commit to at least ten hours per week.

Compensation
$1,800, based on a 12-week duration with a commitment of 10 hours per week. Degree credit can be arranged.
